Thank you for supporting our teachers, students, and school community. Start by choosing the volunteer level that matches what you will be doing.

All volunteers must submit a district volunteer application, a copy of a government-issued photo ID, and TB clearance dated within the 60 days before applying.

Which Volunteer Level Do I Need?

Choose the level based on your responsibilities and the amount of supervision you will have.

Level 1

Best for: Classroom and event support

Supervision: Must remain under the direct supervision of a teacher or credentialed staff member

Requirements: Application, photo ID, and current TB clearance

Level 2

Best for: Field trips and independent small-group supervision

Supervision: May supervise students without direct staff supervision, in accordance with school guidelines

Requirements: All Level 1 requirements, plus Live Scan fingerprinting and annual Mandated Reporter Training

  1. Obtain TB clearance.
  2. Save a copy of your photo ID.
  3. Submit the district volunteer application.
  4. Wait for confirmation that you are cleared to volunteer.

Level 2 Instructions

1 Complete Live Scan Fingerprinting

Find an approved Live Scan location near you. Fees are paid directly to the provider and are not reimbursed by the District.

Save your ATI number so you can track your background-check status. Processing may take up to four weeks, so plan ahead.

2 Complete Mandated Reporter Training

Annual Level 2 requirement beginning July 1, 2026

Beginning 7/1/26, all Level 2 volunteers must complete the State of California’s Mandated Reporter Training course for volunteers (CA SB 848). This is an annual requirement. Please note that there is a fee for this training and the certificate of completion.

  • Create an account on the State’s training website
  • Complete the mandated training course
  • Download a PDF copy of the certificate to add to your volunteer application

3 Gather Your Documents

Have the following ready before opening the application:

  • Government-issued photo ID
  • TB clearance dated within the last 60 days
  • Mandated Reporter Training certificate
  • Completed Live Scan fingerprinting form

4 Submit Your Application

After submitting, you will receive one email confirming receipt and another when you are cleared to volunteer. Your school office will be notified separately.

Before paying for another Live Scan: Confirm whether your existing fingerprint clearance is still valid by checking your background-check status. Also check whether you need updated TB clearance and, for Level 2, a new annual Mandated Reporter Training certificate. If you do need a new Live Scan, find an approved location near you.

Gracias por apoyar a nuestros maestros, estudiantes y comunidad escolar. Primero, elija el nivel de voluntariado que corresponda a las actividades que realizará.

¿Qué Nivel de Voluntariado Necesito?

Elija el nivel según sus responsabilidades y la supervisión que tendrá.

Nivel 1

Indicado para: Apoyo en el salón de clases y en eventos

Supervisión: Debe permanecer bajo la supervisión directa de un maestro o miembro acreditado del personal

Nivel 2

Indicado para: Excursiones y supervisión independiente de grupos pequeños

Cómo Presentar una Solicitud

Nivel 1

  1. Obtenga la prueba de detección de tuberculosis.
  2. Guarde una copia de su identificación con foto.
  3. Presente la solicitud de voluntariado del Distrito.
  4. Espere la confirmación de que tiene autorización para ser voluntario/a.

Instrucciones para el Nivel 2

1 Complete las Huellas Dactilares Live Scan

Busque un centro autorizado de Live Scan cerca de usted. Las tarifas se pagan directamente al proveedor y el Distrito no las reembolsa.

Guarde su número ATI para que pueda consultar el estado de su verificación de antecedentes. El proceso puede tardar hasta cuatro semanas, así que planifique con anticipación.

2 Complete la Capacitación para Reportantes Obligatorios

Requisito anual del Nivel 2 a partir del 1 de julio de 2026

A partir del 1 de julio de 2026, todos los voluntarios de Nivel 2 deben completar el curso de Capacitación para Reportantes Obligatorios del Estado de California para voluntarios (SB 848 de California). Este es un requisito anual. Tenga en cuenta que esta capacitación y el certificado de finalización tienen un costo.

3 Reúna Sus Documentos

4 Presente Su Solicitud

Después de presentarla, recibirá un correo electrónico confirmando que se recibió y otro cuando tenga autorización para ser voluntario/a. La oficina de su escuela será notificada por separado.

¿Ya Es Voluntario/a?

Use la página de voluntariado del Distrito para revisar los requisitos actuales de renovación y presentar su solicitud actualizada. Los requisitos pueden variar según el nivel de voluntariado — consulte la comparación de niveles si no está seguro/a de cuál le corresponde.

Antes de pagar por otro Live Scan: Confirme si su autorización actual de huellas dactilares sigue vigente consultando su estado de verificación de antecedentes. Verifique también si necesita una nueva prueba de tuberculosis y, para el Nivel 2, un nuevo certificado anual de Capacitación para Reportantes Obligatorios. Si necesita un nuevo Live Scan, busque un centro autorizado cerca de usted.
